A mural depicting a co-founder and a member of The Beatles, the most commercially successful and musically influential band, John Lennon, appeared on the building at the John Lennon Square in Izium, Kharkiv region.
Kharkiv artists from Kailas-V group headed by Andriy Palval created this mural. It will be unveiled at the opening ceremony during the forthcoming music and literary festival The Road to the East in Izium on August 18–19 organized on the initiative of the famous Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan.
Andriy Palval is the only artist from Ukraine who took part in the Mural Fest international festival in Almaty last July. He created a painted image of a Kazakh hunter with a golden eagle on the wall of a 10-story building.
Kailas-V group is famous for creating the “I love Kharkiv” logo. They also painted the largest portrait of Taras Shevchenko, the notable portrait of Yuri Gagarin, famous compatriots’ portraits, including Klavdia Shulzhenko, surreal graffiti “House in a cut,” and decorated the multistoried buildings with colored images of birds.
