Philip Morris Ukraine Begins Export to Albania and Saudi Arabia

The tobacco company adds two new foreign markets to its portfolio served from Kharkiv.

Philip Morris Ukraine announced the beginning of its products supply to Saudi Arabia and Albania. The company will be shipping ten brands to these countries.

Philip Morris Ukraine Kharkiv tobacco factory produces over 150 product line items which besides Ukraine and two new markets, are also supplied to Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Japan.

“The tobacco factory in Kharkiv is a full-fledged export hub for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa markets. More than 40 percent of the cigarettes produced at the factory are exported,” noted Deputy Director-General of Philip Morris Ukraine Ihor Kroshko.

According to him, Kharkiv factory also produces cut fillers for Egypt and filters for other production centers of the company in the Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and EU.

The company has been operating in Ukraine for more than 20 years. It produces its products at a factory in Kharkiv region.

Since 2016, Ukraine has become the seventh world market, where the company introduces the innovative tobacco heating system IQOS-product, which according to the company is capable of reducing the risk to the health of the smoker compared to the traditional cigarettes.

Recall, besides positive developments, there is also the controversial news as Philip Morris Ukraine have had to file a lawsuit against the State Fiscal Service recently.
