In August, a group of 18 Russian intelligence agents was arrested in Kharkiv.
This was officially reported by the head of SBU Vasyl Hrytsak.
“On August 17, a large Russian intelligence group, which members worked for secret service and were involved in sabotage activity in Ukraine, was detained in Kharkiv,” stated Hrytsak. He specified that seven agents out of 18 have already been announced on suspicion.
The head of SBU pointed out that the curator of the residence belonged to the Russian intelligence service, he controlled the secret service group activity in Ukraine from Belgorod, Russia.
According to Hrytsak, the Ukrainian security service currently follows another group engaged in similar intelligence activities. This group had been directed by a woman named Dariya Mastikasheva, arrested on August 17 in Kamenske, Ukraine.
Earlier, the SBU reported on the attempted murder of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his visit to Kharkiv region on August 22.
