As for 2017 three quarters, Kharkiv Airport passenger traffic exceeded the whole last year period, amounting to 616,700 passengers.
It is by 39% more than at the same period of the last year – 442,300 passengers. The most popular destinations were Istanbul, Antalya, Kyiv, Sharm El Sheikh, Warsaw, Tel Aviv and Minsk.
In September 2017, passenger traffic amounted to 79,100. It is by 26% more than in September 2016, when the traffic was 62,900 people. It primarily depends on increasing of flight frequencies to Warsaw and Tel Aviv, as well as new seasonal destinations. Also, the passenger traffic is growing on other flights.
During last month, international flights reached 80% of traffic volume, while domestic flights accounted for 20%.
Presently, the airport is actively preparing for the winter season. The charter flights to Sharm-El-Sheikh in Egypt and Kittilä in Finland have already shown up in the flight schedule. Winter tours with departure from Kharkiv are in great demand at the city travel agencies. It is expected the launch of the popular winter destinations. For example, as in the previous year, HKS-Group tour operator is planning to organize New Year charter flights to Maribor, Slovenia, for skiing fans.
