Finnish business delegation and Embassy of Finland in Ukraine representatives visited Kharkiv this week.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Ukraine Juha Virtanen visited the Kharkiv region for the second time. Together with the Kharkiv regional and local authorities, the implementation of gender projects, cooperation in the spheres of culture, tourism and business were discussed.
Juha Virtanen emphasized that the Kharkiv region takes part in the implementation of two Finnish projects related to the development of education and energy efficiency in Ukraine.
“Finland has allocated more than €30 million to Ukraine over the past three years. The Kharkiv region is a very important strategic region for cooperation,” the Ambassador states.
“I was amazed by the number of projects that are implemented in Kharkiv. Finland is ready to support the projects on energy efficiency. We also have the know-how in the waste processing field, and we can provide expert support to Kharkiv in this area. Some of our companies intend to start business in Ukraine. Being a large city, Kharkiv is attractive for investors; and new companies are interested in opening their offices here,” the Ambassador noted.
Also, Finnish businessmen suggested the local authorities to implement joint medical programs: in particular, to introduce innovative technologies aimed at the prevention and stabilization of patients after myocardial infarction and treatment of Parkinson disease.
Both sides agreed to implement existing ones and discuss new joint initiatives in the future.
