In December 2016 the Kharkiv airport passenger traffic amounted to 599 700 per annum, which is 61% more than last year traffic, reports the press-service of international airport “Kharkiv”.
Last year regular flights to Istanbul, Turkey (Pegasus, Atlasglobal), Kyiv, Ukraine (UIA), Minsk, Belarus (Belavia), Warsaw, Poland (LOT), Kutaisi, Georgia (UIA), Tel Aviv, Israel (UIA), as well as charter flights to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt (Windrose, AZUR Air Ukraine, Bravo) and Kittilä, Finland (Bravo) were carried out. The flight to Maribor, Slovenia operated by Bravo airlines has also become quite popular at by the end of 2016.
In the past year Kharkiv airport increased the frequency of existing regular flights to Kyiv, from one to two daily flights, flights to Istanbul – from the original four to seven flights per week, and flights to Tel Aviv – from two to three per week. In March 2016 Kharkiv International Airport started a new flight to Warsaw, which is available 6 days a week now.
Kharkiv has handled a lot of seasonal charter flights, as well as has launched new ones to Dalaman, Turkey and Maribor. Leaders on the number of flights among charters were flights to Antalya and Sharm El Sheikh.
According to the press-service of international airport “Kharkiv” 2016 was predictably successful, and the results came close to the record results of 2013.
