The All-Ukrainian Watra festival of travel, tourism, and scouting took place in Mashynobudivnykiv park in Kharkiv. It was organized by the students of Ukrainian Academy of Leadership. It is one of the projects they presented at the end of their studies.
This festival is a great opportunity to learn more about alternative ways of low-cost traveling, get to know about tourist organizations and find like-minded people for planning untraveled routes.
The guests of the festival tested practical survival skills, listened to the stories from seasoned travelers and tasted field kitchen food. The information about the local public organizations which hold summer themed camps this year was also available.
During the event, the guests could participate in themed competitions and win prizes, try rope routes, free climbing walls and a shooting gallery. What is more, they could enjoy an open air movie show in the evening.
“I really wanted to do something and I was looking for an idea that would fascinate me. Subsequently, I realized that traveling is exactly what I wish to share with people and to involve them in,” stated the initiator of the event, Olexandra Cherniakhovska.
