Kharkiv Policewoman Becomes National Champion

The senior lieutenant of Kharkiv police Olena Bruggen took first place in the 9th Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship being her debut.

According to the National Police General Administration in the Kharkiv region, the policewoman successfully competed in the deadlift by raising the 100 kg loaded barbell.

This is not the first bright opening for the police officer: last year Bruggen took second place in the open Cup of the Kharkiv region for bodybuilding and body fitness in different exercises.

Moreover, the policewoman is a highly-skilled boxer and kickboxer and has a red belt in taekwondo. She took part in many competitions for law enforcement officers and took the first place in duel shooting and women’s shooting in 2013 and 2016.

Olena Bruggen expressed her gratitude to all those who supported her and to her coach Olexandr Mikulenko. “He believed in me, supported me and put all his energy into my training. His enthusiasm is the most significant contribution to my victory,” said the champion.

Also, Colonel of Kharkiv Police Andrii Likhachev said all colleagues are very proud of the winner, who is serving as a great role model of self-development, discipline and dedication for young professionals.
