Best Open Air Swimming Pools in Kharkiv

Summer is the time for a beach rest. Citizens are actively looking for places where they can dip into the cool water and sunbathe. In addition to water reservoirs, the city offers swimming pools that usually are located in the city center. Pools can’t replace the sea, but they are a good alternative if you don’t have the opportunity to go to the seaside.

Kharkiv Observer has chosen the city’s best swimming pools.

Terrace beach club


There is a little outdoor swimming pool with sea water and a jacuzzi on the 6th floor of the Nemo hotel. The terrace is equipped with sun loungers and sofas. Bathing, you can admire the wonderful view of Kharkiv.

Price: weekdays UAH 300/day ($12), weekends UAH 350/day ($14), for children under 5 years admission is free.

Working hours: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Misto SPA & Fitness center’s aqua zone


There is a 25-meter swimming pool where you can swim as well as get advice from a qualified fitness trainer. According to the website, the pool is filled with artesian water, purified by quartz. There are also deck chairs and volleyball courts.


Weekdays: UAH 150 ($6);

Weekends: UAH 200 ($8),

Children older than one year: UAH 100 ($4).

Working hours: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Arizona Beach Club


This recreation center is located in a remote green area — Oleksiivsky Lugopark. There are children’s and adult pools as well as a beach with access to the river. Fans of outdoor activities can play volleyball or tennis. One of the main highlights is the bar counter right in the pool.


Weekdays: UAH 150 ($6)

Weekends: UAH 200 ($8)

Children under 7 years: free of charge.

Working hours: from 10 a.m. to the last client.

Domik Lesnika recreation center


It is located near the circular road along the Belgorod highway, close to the Feldman Ecopark. The recreation center has a 25-meter swimming pool, sun beds, and a summer bar. In addition, it is surrounded by a picturesque forest where you can walk for hours away from the city noise.


Weekdays: UAH 150 ($6)

Weekends and holidays: UAH 200 ($8)

Children under 12 years can visit it at no cost.

Working hours: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Arkada Beach Club


Arkada Beach club is located on the river Lopan. No noise of cars, fuss, only reserved forest, pine trees, birds singing, magnificent view, and clean air. Amazing places attract a large number of tourists who want to relax in natural surroundings. Arkada’s feature is the number of swimming pools: there are five of them (three for adults and two for children). Visitors can also rent sports equipment at the place.


Weekdays: UAH 200 ($8)

Weekends and holidays: UAH 250

For kids under 7 years the admission is free. The ticket for children from 7 to 14 years costs UAH 150 ($6) on weekdays and UAH 200 ($8) on weekends.

Patio summer terrace


The outdoor terrace with a pool is located in Lesopark — the forest Kharkivites adore. There is everything you need for a beach holiday: sun loungers (included in the ticket’s price), refreshing drinks, hookahs. For an additional fee, you can climb in a rope park or rent a bicycle.


Weekdays: UAH 150 ($6)

Weekends: UAH 180 ($7)

The entrance is free for children less than 6 years.

Working hours: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

You can also learn about other city pools: Tetra, Leto Aqua zone at Traditsyia Resto-Park, Raiskyi sad, Nasha Dacha.

Still, some Kharkivites hesitate to swim in the pools because they have some concerns about their clearance. The dermatologist Kachuk Yulia thinks that such hesitations are groundless. According to her, she didn’t meet people with serious infections resulted from swimming in the pool. The doctor believes that the staff adheres to the norms and clears the pool’s water as it should be.

In any case, the choice is yours whether to swim in the swimming pool or not.
