Fans Applaud Man City in Kharkiv

Yesterday, October 23, the Metalist Stadium, Kharkiv, hosted Champions League match, group stage, between Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City. The final score was 0:3 in favor of the English club, who now tops Group F.

In the first half, David Silva broke the deadlock on 30th minutes and was quickly joined on the scoresheet by Aymeric Laporte. Bernardo Silva scored the final goal on the 70th minute of the match seconds after coming on as the substitute.

In spite of the losing the match, Ukrainian team showed spirited game, particularly in the second half. Shakhtar’s captain Taras Stepanenko considers the rivals won deservedly, but it must be taken into the account that the team played without key footballers, Taison and Marlos, who had been injured in previous games in Ukrainian Premier League.

Manchester City dominated in the first half and managed 14 efforts on goal, more than 20 times in total during the whole match. In the second half, Shakhtar succeeded in with a few counterattacks and had a shot on target in the 51st minute although the goalkeeper stopped the ball.

Shakhtar players and fans noted they observed an excellent game by Manchester City. It notable that they played without team’s best players, captain Vincent Kompany and leading striker Sergio Aguero.

Shakhtar’s fans created an awesome atmosphere during the match and cheered their team tremendously and sportingly applauded the fantastic game of the opponent’s team. Both clubs were able to display the great skillful play and make a real football spectacle!
