$270 million has been invested into the Kharkiv region’s economy since the beginning of 2017.
This was reported at the sixth meeting of the Regional Development Council in Kyiv on October 24.
The forum was chaired by the President of Ukraine.
It was highlighted that most of the investments were placed into the real sector of the economy, including the development of manufacturing enterprises.
According to the head of Kharkiv region Yulia Svitlychna, both foreign and Ukrainian investors more and more often see Kharkiv attractive and safe for making money. The international events, which are often held in the city, can be regarded one of the reasons for this positive change.
It is worth pointing out that only a few years ago foreign diplomats and businessmen considered the region unstable and dangerous. However this year the situation has changed, the officials imply. The investors’ activity shows that the east of Ukraine and its future look more secure.
“In 2017, an international economic forum gathered representatives from 30 countries of the world, including 15 ambassadors. Over 10,000 people visited Agroport forum, which lasted three days. The variety of events allows to create a platform for business and authorities communication,” said Svitlychna.
