Five new routes to be launched from Kharkiv International Airport in 2018.
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is going to operate two regular flights to Katowice (Poland) and Dortmund (Germany). The other three seasonal fights are scheduled to Barcelona (Spain), Rimini (Italy) and Larnaca (Cyprus) by Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines.
According to the Airport’s press service, 2018 will bring not only new flights but also a lot of events and records.
In 2017, Kharkiv Airport set two records over a period of 26 years.
In July, the airport set a record on the monthly passenger traffic which was 87,206 people. The total passenger traffic during 2017 amounted to 806,000 passengers, up more than 35 percent, compared to 2016. Top flight destinations were Istanbul and Antalya (Turkey), Kyiv, Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Tel Aviv (Israel), Warsaw (Poland) and Minsk (Belarus).
According to the Airport’s official site, in November, it set another record – 31.3 tons of cargo was transported, totaling 230 tons for the year.
“2017 has been the most successful year for our airport in recent years. And we hope that in 2018 we will show much more positive results,” the press service announces.
