Kharkiv Celebrates Fourth National Police Anniversary

On July 4, police officers together with Kharkiv residents celebrated the fourth anniversary of the creation of National Police of Ukraine in the city’s downtown. “Two locations were used for inaugural police activities: Freedom Square and the site in front of the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre,” the press-service of Kharkiv police informs.

All comers were able to see the work of various police units. The guests were excited with a demonstration of canine units, mounted police and bike patrol’s skills. Police officers conducted classes, contests and quizzes on road safety for children. Adults and children examined police service vehicles, tried on police equipment and took photos with patrol officers.

Those who aspire towards a career in police received useful information from the specialists of the General Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region and the Kharkiv National University of the Internal Affairs on admission requirements and education.

The playing of the University cadet’s orchestra conquered the hearts of the event’s guests – especially the performance with carbines accompanied by the charming female drummers. At the venue near the Opera and Ballet Theatre, young actors of the unique to Ukraine Children of the Future police amateur theater arranged a real theatrical extravaganza which included their best performances. All attendees received ice cream, sweets, gifts, themed souvenirs and balloons with the logo of the National Police.
