Kharkiv ‘Panthers’ Become Number One in Ukraine

Kharkiv “Panthers” women’s ice hockey team won with confidence the national women’s ice hockey championship 2017-2018 on March 11.

In finals, “Panthers” overcame their main competitors from Dnipro “Korolivy Dnipra” with 7: 3.

The wave of joy overflew the players, the coaches and the fans who watched the exciting ice show. The team coach Vadym Radchenko noted that the “Panthers” played professionally and their hard work made them the best.

“For the first time in sports history, the top hockey awards have been brought to Kharkiv, gold medals and a cup of the National Championship. And we, Kharkiv ‘Panthers,’ are the ones who did this!” player Kateryna Seredenko says in excitement.

“These are incredible emotions, joy, tears and smiles! But the main thing is that we have achieved this. The dream has become the goal and it was met,” adds Yulia Dun, who is a defense player. Dun hopes that next year a professional woman’s team will be created on the basis of amateur teams.

Kharkiv women’s ice hockey team “Panther” was created in June 2016. Currently, the team is funded by its members. This season was glorious for the team, which had played 12 games of the regular Championship triumphally, with only one loss, to become the leaders.
