Kharkiv sportswomen from the Ukrainian National Paralympic Team won ten medals at World Cup stage in cross-country skiing and biathlon, which took place in Ostersund, Sweden on January 12-19.
Overall, Ukrainians got six gold, 14 silver and 16 bronze medals. Kharkivites won one gold, six silver and three bronze.
In visually impaired women’s races, Oksana Shyshkova won cross-country sprint skiing and also gained silver medals in the biathlon sprint, individual biathlon race, cross-country skiing race and relay race of cross-country skiing, and also finished third in long-distance cross-country skiing.
In the women’s standing, Liudmyla Liashenko was second in cross-country sprint skiing and biathlon and third in long-distance cross-country skiing and in an individual biathlon race.
In the National team medal table, the Ukrainian team stands on top and second in the total gold medals count. The USA team finished first in the gold medals count, totaling 11.
Currently, the Ukrainian Paralympic team is training for the World Cup, which will be carried out in Canada on February 15-24.
