A Physical and physical and technical faculties combined team of Karazin Kharkiv National University won the All-Ukrainian Students’ Physics Tournament. It took place at National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” on December 1-5.
Fourteen teams from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Sumy participated in the scientific competition which the students describe as “honest, open and really hard.”
Remarkably, two Kharkiv teams got into the final together with a team from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. As a result, the Karazin University combined team overcame both other teams.
“Kharkiv is the best, as always. Thirty points out of 30 possible for the task – I see such an achievement for the first time in my practice. Not surprisingly they took the first place in the international tournament previously. They deserve it,” assistant professor of Kyiv Polytechnic University Mykhaylo Vysotsky notes.
The participants point out that a real “modest fabulous hero” of the tournament was the assistant professor and senior researcher Zakhar Mayzelis who has been training two teams this year. Both became the winners of two national competitions within one month.
There are four girls and two boys among the best physicists of Ukraine: Oryna Ivashtenko, Darya Raspopova, Ihor Sikachina, Oleksiy Lukyanchuk, Olha Zaitseva and Victoria Zaitseva.
