Kharkiv Sets Taekwondo Record

The national record of Ukraine was established during the Sports Fair in Gorky Park on September 9.

Taekwondo practitioners, aged between three and 63, with their coaches, lined on the central alley of the park to break “the largest demonstration of Taekwondo techniques” record. Head of the National Register of Records Lana Vetrova witnessed the record officially.

In total, 2001 Taekwondo practitioners and coaches from seven children’s and youth’s sports schools and 15 sports clubs took part in the event. The 2001st participant was the coach whose commands were carried out by the athletes. “Everything came easy, because the younger ones practiced behind the entitled athletes,” the coach notes.

According to Lana Vetrova, Kharkiv confirmed its title of the sports capital of Ukraine. She also emphasized the very high level of organization of the event.

By the way, the new record became the 42nd for the Kharkiv region, which is the best result in Ukraine.

Reference: The annual Sports Fair is held for the fourth time in Kharkiv. This time, 60 federations and about 25 sports organizations participated in it.
