Local Elections Results Declared in Kharkiv Region

On November 5, the city electoral commission announced the results of the elections to the city and regional councils.

It was announced that five parties will join the regional council of the new convocation. “Blok Kernesa – Uspishnyi Kharkiv (“Kernes’ Block – Successful Kharkiv”) received 34.53 percent of the votes that gives the political force 46 out of 120 deputy seats. “Oppozytsiyna Platforma – Za Zhyttya” (Opposition Platform – For Life) got 21.33 percent comprising 29 deputies.  The president’s party Sluha Narodu (Servant of People) (12.76%) and “Blok Yulii Svitlychnoyi ‘Razom'” (Block of Yulia Svitlychna “Together”) (12.4%) will be represented by the same number of deputies amounting to 17 each. Yevropeyska Solidarnist (European Solidarity) party received 8.05 percent of votes and 11 seats as a result. Six other parties did not pass the five-percent threshold.

Candidates from six political parties have been elected to the city council. “Blok Kernesa – Uspishnyi Kharkiv (“Kernes’ Block – Successful Kharkiv”) got 37.95 percent which comprises 34 out of 84 seats. “Oppozytsiyna Platforma – Za Zhyttya” (Opposition Platform – For Life) received 20.96 percent and 19 deputy seats. Yevropeyska Solidarnist (European Solidarity) gained 8.99 percent and Sluha Narodu (Servant of People) obtained 8.76 percent receiving nine seats each. Partiya Shariya (Shariy’s party) gained 6.55 percent and seven seats. “Blok Yulii Svitlychnoyi ‘Razom'” (Block of Yulia Svitlychna “Together”) got 6,14 percent and six seats. Eleven parties haven’t passed the five-percent threshold.

According to the protocol on the election results, 323,218 voters participated in the voting. The average voter turnout was 31,3 percent. Overall, 30,456 ballots were declared invalid.
