Kharkiv museums map was presented in Kharkiv Literary Museum last week.
This map will be located inside the museums. With this guidance, visitors will be able to find out about other similar institutions located nearby.
The map contains booklets describing interesting and unusual exhibits, contact details, admission tickets prices, working hours and QR code providing more information. Brochures will be freely distributed among students and in public places.
Seven museums are represented on the map so far. They are State Natural History Museum and the Museum of Archaeology at Karazin Kharkiv National University, Landau Center of Karazin University, Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum, Kharkiv Literary Museum, Kharkiv Maritime Museum and Kharkiv Art Museum.
The idea to create the museums’ map belongs to Excursion without Limitation public initiatives coordinator Victoria Sklyarova. During her three-day trip to Sumy, Victoria attended Anton Chekhov museum located in the city suburbs. Leaving it, she noticed the map of Sumy museums on the front door. This is how she decided to visit two of them. Moreover, there were similar maps inside other museums she attended.
Head of the Day of Music public organization Serhiy Zhukovsky helped to make the project a reality.
“It was rather hard to create the map containing all the needed information about museums that are so different from each other. It’s a pilot version as the map is still being developed,” Zhukovsky stated.
The project aims to help Kharkivities and the city guests look for museums they are interested in visiting. The map is useful for foreign tourists as it is in English too.
