Metalist Sports Complex Becomes Base for Olympians and Paralympians Training

Metalist Sports Complex acquired the status of a base for Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic training. The corresponding draft decision was supported by the Ukrainian government on March 3.

Seven more complexes in Ukraine received the assignments as training centers for Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic competitors. These included physical education and sports institutions in Vinnytsia, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, two sports bases in Kyiv and one in Zakarpattia region. Six physical culture institutions were excluded from the list.

“We have to effectively use coaching potential and resource capabilities of state enterprises to hold national and international competitions and training camps of our national teams,” states Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Hutsait.

In the future, the Ministry of Youth and Sports plans to develop selection criteria according to which the issue of inclusion or exclusion of Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic training bases will be considered.
