On December 12, Kharkivite Yurii Zykov died in ATO zone. He’s just returned to the front line from a vacation.
The 48-year-old Yurii Zykov actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity and Kharkiv Euromaidan in particular. Having joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the man had been fighting near villages of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka in the 92nd and 54th mechanized brigades. Later became a deputy commander of a reconnaissance group.
After the vacation, the soldier returned to his brigade at Svitlodarska Duha and was getting ready to go on duty. Suddenly he felt bad and died of a heart attack.
Yurii Zykov was buried in the Alley of Heroes, at one of Kharkiv cemeteries. The fighter’s wife and a 14-year-old daughter will have to learn how to live without him.
“We are going to miss this man. There are people who can’t be replaced. One could feel safe knowing Yura was on duty,” one of the comrades admitted.
