The first plane Lublin-Kharkiv landed at the Kharkiv International Airport on June 18. From now on it is possible to fly nonstop from Kharkiv to Poland.
New regular air connection Kharkiv-Lublin is provided by Bravo Airways on Mondays and Thursdays. The flight lasts 80 to 120 minutes and the cheapest fare is 1,300 UAH ($50) one way.
The first passengers of the Lublin-Kharkiv flight were Kharkiv city council officials, who carried out a working visit to Lublin, travel companies’ employees and journalists.
The first travelers note that Lublin is the students’ capital of Poland and one of Kharkiv’s most active international partners in youth policy, tourism and culture. Therefore the regular flight provides a lot of new opportunities for Kharkivites.
Last week, 12 Kharkiv students were selected for two periods of volunteering within the European Volunteer Service in Lublin. From July to August, Kharkivites are taking part in organizing and servicing major cultural festivals in Lublin such as Magicians’ Carnival and Jagiellonian Fair. In September, the Festival of Legends and Eastern Europe Initiatives Congress will attract visitors from Kharkiv.
Reference: August 23, 2017, an inter-municipal agreement with Lublin was signed in Kharkiv. Youth policy, cultural heritage protection and student start-ups are the major areas of the two cities’ cooperation.
