February 14, Ukraine International Airlines announced that direct flights from Kharkiv to Bergamo, Italy, are launched from April 2018.
The timetable has been published and the tickets are available already. Planes start flying from Kharkiv on April 27 twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:35 p.m. Passengers can fly from Bergamo to Kharkiv on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departure time 12:40 a.m.
The journey time is approximately 3 hours. Flights will be operated on Boeing 737 until October 26.
The flights are provided at a competitive price. Airline tickets for the new flight start from €152 (or 5,000 UAH) in both directions. This is economy class with only hand luggage tariff. The low-cost system is also introduced, return tickets for October are sold at a minimum price of €70 (or 2,400 UAH).
The observers note that the decision of the airlines to launch the flights Kharkiv-Bergamo was unexpected and may excite by the popularity of the destination and have tough competition. Three airlines are to operate at Kharkiv after April and flights to new destinations are opened, in particular – to Milan, Dortmund, Katowice and Tbilisi. Five more flights to Barcelona, Larnaca, Rimini, Bourgas and Tivat are launched after June 2018.
Reference: Bergamo, which is 50 km northeast from Milan, is famous in Ukraine due to the cult old musical, based on the play “Servant of Two Masters” by Carlo Goldoni.
