According to Kharkiv International Airport’s press-service, passenger traffic reached 78,600 people in December, which is 30 percent higher than this time last year, amounting to 60,500 passengers.
International traffic flow is also growing significantly. In December 2018, it reached 60,300 people, which is 37 percent more than the same month last year.
The airport’s press-service informs that the most popular destinations in December were Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Kyiv, Istanbul (Turkey), Warsaw (Poland) and Vienna (Austria).
Since November 25, when Wizz Air low-cost air carrier launched a new nonstop flight to the Austrian capital, the destination subsequently broke into the top five in the airport’s fly list.
Also, the UK capital has become closer to Kharkivites since Wizz Air started a direct flight to London in November.
Tickets to London are available from just $22 (609 UAH) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and to Vienna from $36 (approximately 1000 UAH) twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Kharkiv Airport plans to operate new flights to Odesa, Krakow (Poland), Rome and Milan (Italy). The last two destinations will be available from March 2019.
