Prosecutor General Attends Law Forum in Kharkiv

Today, October 3, the First Kharkiv International Legal Forum on Law and Problems of Sustainable Development in a Globalized World has started in Law Academy.

Politicians, officials, world-famous scientists and lawyers from 20 countries are discussing current global problems of the modern world and searching for the ways to develop and improve Ukraine’s economic, social and legal institutions.

The key issues are focused on the sustainable development, promoting a peaceful and open society, ensuring access to justice for all and creating fair, accountable and participatory institutions at all levels.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko and the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko came to Kharkiv to take part in the forum opening.

Yuriy Lutsenko emphasized the importance of the state institutions activity on fighting corruption in his speech. He pointed out that the anti-corruption system and court are to be developed further on in Ukraine. “Such anti-corruption court should work in every city. Now local judges are up to their eyes in the piles of constitutive cases. We must unite justice and lawfulness, as the most honest courts of Europe do,” said Lutsenko.

The forum will introduce numerous panel discussions, round tables, and workshops and will last until October 6. The results will be sent to the governmental bodies.
