Kharkiv International Airport registered the record monthly passenger flow of totaling 114,600 people in June 2018.
“This is the first time that monthly passengers number has exceeded 100,000 people which is 38 percent increase than during the same period last year,” the airport’s press service highlights. Earlier, the record was set in May 2018, when 88,900 customers used the airport, compared to 5 percent more than a year ago, which totaled 84,400. This amounted to an 80 percent share of international flight passengers.
The most popular destinations in June were Istanbul (Pegasus, Turkish Airlines), Kyiv (UIA), Warsaw (LOT), Tel Aviv (UIA), Dortmund (WizzAir), Minsk (Belavia), Milan (UIA), Batumi (Myway Airlines, Yanair), Katowice (WizzAir), Tbilisi (Myway Airlines) and Lublin (Bravo Airways).
Airport managers explain the noticeable increase in passenger traffic, in particular, with the recent opening of a number of new flights. In 2018, several new routes were launched to Dortmund, Milan, Tbilisi, Barcelona, Batumi, Rimini, Katowice and other cities.
For two quarters of 2018 since January 2018, total passenger flow amounted to 440,200 people, which is 21 percent more than the same period of 2017 when 364,100 passengers were recorded.
This positive dynamic proceeds as Kharkiv airport is expanding its range of destinations. From this fall, flights from Kharkiv to Vienna are launched.
