Saint Nicholas’ Reindeer charity project has started in Kharkiv again. The kids who live in the frontline area will get presents for upcoming winter holidays as a part of the event.
According to AKCenter volunteers, about 10,000 children live in Donetsk frontline zone and approximately 4,000 kids live in the Luhansk region gray zone (towns and villages along the frontline).
“And for these very children living on the frontline, we want to make a special holiday as we managed to do last year. However, there will be more children on reindeer’s route this year. During the past year our mobile volunteer brigade visited them, gave master classes, organized games, festivals, and even made friends with some kids,” the volunteers noted.
In the planning phase of the charity project, children write their wishes and give them to volunteers, and they, in turn, share their wish list on the internet. Subsequently, anyone will be able to make a gift to any particular child, fulfilling his dream. The first wishes have already shown up. For example, one child wants a red soccer ball and “shooting to stop,” and another wishes his brother with special needs may get presents.
