Top Flight Destinations from Kharkiv in November

“Last month Kharkivities mostly flew to Kyiv, Istanbul in Turkey, capitals of Israel, Belarus, Poland, as well as Egyptian resort towns — Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada,” the Kharkiv International Airport press service reports.

For the last month, 61,000 travelers used the airport’s services. That’s 20 percent more than in the same period last year when the airport welcomed 51,000 passengers.

Since the beginning of the year, the passenger traffic has grown by 36 percent, from 548,000 to 745,000. The most popular destinations among the Kharkiv region residents were Istanbul, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Kyiv, Warsaw, Minsk and Tel Aviv.

The share of passenger traffic on international flights was 77 percent. Twenty-three percent of customers flew within Ukraine.

The popularity of international flights is also expected in December due to the Christmas season. Kharkiv airport’s customers may choose from such destinations as Kittilä (Finland), Maribor (Slovenia), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Istanbul (Turkey), Tel Aviv (Israel) and others.

In 2018, the airport will launch new flights. The largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe Wizz Air returns to Kharkiv after three years of a recess. In April 2018, the airline will launch flights to Dortmund, Germany, on Thursdays and Sundays. Another direct flight destination, Katowice, will be available since June. Passengers will be able to get to the Polish city on Wednesdays and Fridays.
