Turkish Airlines Launches a New Flight from Kharkiv

General Manager of the Representative Office of Turkish Airlines in Kharkiv Alper Kasikci met with Kharkiv Governor Yulia Svitlychna on March 22 to discuss the opening of a flight from Kharkiv to Istanbul.

Alper Kasikci said, “Kharkiv will be the 291st destination flight for Turkish Airlines and one of the important destinations around the world, enlisted in the top 50 Turkish Airlines.”

He specified that after launching Kharkiv to Istanbul flight on March 30, the company will carry out four flights a week. Starting from May 30, Turkish Airlines will be operating daily flights. And in the future, it is possible to increase the number of flights between cities to two flights a day.

“Due to the fact that Kharkiv is very important for Turkish airlines, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey and the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic to Ukraine are invited to the opening ceremony on March 30. We also expect the general management of our airline to attend it,” Kasikci said.

Turkish Airlines has already opened the sale of tickets for direct flights from Kharkiv to Istanbul on December 6. The ticket price is about 6458–8073 UAH (240–300 USD) for both directions including service fees.

Turkish Airlines started offering flights to Kharkiv after signing the agreement to lift restrictions on flights between Kyiv and Ankara in October 2016, as well as significantly increase the quota for flights on other routes.
