Today, on May 9, the main celebrations in honor of Victory Day over Nazism in World War II took place at the Marshal Konev Height Memorial Complex and at the Glory Memorial in Forest Park.
The ceremony of floral offerings in honor of Victory Day took place on the Marshal Konev Height Memorial Complex.
Kharkiv Governor Yulia Svitlychna, Chairman of the of the Regional Council Serhii Chernov, as well as other officials, veterans of the Second World War and ATO, prisoners of concentration camps, representatives of public organizations and the clergy attended the ceremony.
Addressing all present, Governor of KhRSA noted that the victory over Nazism is common for every Ukrainian and European, for the whole world.
Svitlychna recalled that the toughest fights took place in the region during the war and in four battles for Kharkiv a huge number of people died.
On the occasion of the holiday, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers was also held at the Glory Memorial in Forest Park.
As the press service of the National Police reports, nearly 10,000 Kharkivites attended the event to pay respects.
