On April 5, Kharkiv International Airport welcomed the first direct low fare flight from Dortmund provided by Wizz Air.
Currently, those who travel from Kharkiv can use the newest Wizz Air connection with the German city on Thursdays and Sundays from just €39.99 (approximately 1099 UAH).
Kharkiv airport officials state that Wizz Air selected Germany as its first destination from Kharkiv due to the largest demand in passenger traffic. The flight to Dortmund also makes Amsterdam closer to Kharkiv, as the distance between the two cities is less than 240 kilometers.
Kharkiv Observer has already reported that this year Wizz Air has returned to Kharkiv with three new destinations. In addition to Dortmund, the low-cost company launches flights to Katowice (Poland) from June 20 and to Vienna (Austria) from November 25.
General director of Kharkiv International Airport Volodymyr Vasylchenko highlights that the return of Wizz Air is great news for the city. The official is convinced that in addition to the flights, opened in 2018, the low-cost company network from Kharkiv will expand further in future.
In turn, Wizz Air announced that it is planning to increase cooperation with Kharkiv Airport.
Reference: Not only Wizz Air revives its activity in Kharkiv: a number of other new flights to Europe are opened. So Kharkivites will have the opportunity to travel to Milan from April. The flights to Larnaca (Cyprus) will be performed from May 25, on Fridays. Starting from June 6, passengers will be able to fly to Rimini (Italy) every Saturday, and from July 2 to Barcelona (Spain) on Wednesdays. In June, flights to Tivat (Montenegro) and Burgas (Bulgaria) are launched as well. Also, from 2019, direct flights to the UK are planned to commence.
