Young Kharkivite Wins Silver at European Junior Olympiad in Informatics

On September 3-13, European Junior Olympiad in Informatics took place in Sofia, Bulgaria.

84 students from 22 European countries participated in the Olympiad. It is a sports programming contest for students under age of 15, where four pupils represent each country.

The 10th-grade-student of the Academic Gymnasium Kharkiv Educational Complex №45 Daniil Ostashev was a member of Ukrainian team. As a result of the contest, Daniil won a silver medal. According to the student, the support of his Computer Science teacher Mykola Arzubov has made his victory possible.

Reference: European Junior Olympiad in Informatics is a significant event in the development of the elite of the IT industry in Council of Europe member states. It aims to encourage the interest of young children in IT and to stimulate competitive software development in Europe as a whole, as well as acknowledge the best young IT talents.
