Kharkiv Airport Increases Passenger Traffic

“During 10 months of 2021, passenger traffic at Kharkiv International Airport increased by 66 percent compared to the same period last year and comprised up to 976,171 people. In 2020, the figure was 587,664 passengers,” informs the Kharkiv airport’s press service.

Domestic traffic increased to 79,274 people, up 2 percent from the same period in 2020. Carriage on international flights increased by 76 percent which amounted to 896,897 people.

Over the first 10 months of 2021, the number of flights increased 1.5 times compared to the same period last year – up by 4,424.

In October 2021, 123,062 people traveled through the airport, which is also 66 percent higher than in the same period last year. For the same period in 2020, this figure was 74,339 people.

International passenger traffic in October 2021 amounted to 114,698 people (69 percent more than in October last year), domestic – 8,364 passengers (plus 32 percent by October 2020).

Air carriers operated 1,539 flights from Kharkiv airport in October 2021, which is 34 percent more than in 2020.

The most popular destinations are Antalya, Istanbul (Turkey), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Larnaca (Cyprus).

During nine months of 2021, passenger traffic through Kharkiv airport increased by 66 percent from last year’s figure – 853,100 people traveled via Kharkiv airport (514,100 for the same period last year). For the first nine months, 3,885 flights took off from the airport, of which 2,493 were international and 1,392 were domestic. Last year, the total number of flights during this period comprised 2,590.
