On March 14, Kharkivite Olha Abramova won the biathlon women’s sprint at the final stage of IBU European Cup in Martell-Val Martello, Italy.
The athlete finished the 7.5-kilometer race in 23:14 minutes with clean-shooting. Olha overcame Russian sportswoman Kristina Reztsova who won silver and Swedish Johanna Skottheim who got bronze.
Ukrainians Nadiia Belkina, Yana Bondar and Daria Blashko finished eighth, 17th and 37th.
After 23 competitions, Olha ranks 20th in Women’s IBU Cup Total Score. Ukrainian athletes Nadiia Belkina holds fifth and Yulia Zhuravok is 16th.
It’s the first gold medal which Olha won at the international competitions.
Reference: Olha Abramova made her World Cup debut in 2013-2014 season in Antholz, Italy and since then she has been a member of the Ukrainian team.
