In the last days of June, Kharkiv residents joined the national celebrations of Youth and Constitution Days.
On June 27, a concert with performances by Take Five, Lewis Carroll Band, Dream West bands and Shagakov, VVennikova, Aluchana Fedgy singers as well as a famous Ukrainian MOZGI band was dedicated to Youth Day. An open-air electro-disco was also held with the participation of the European hitmaker VANOTEK. The concert’s culmination was a grand flash mob called “Kharkiv is cool!”
On June 28, representatives of regional and local authorities, heads of Kharkiv districts and the clergy gathered at Maidan Konstytutsii (Constitution Square) in Kharkiv to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Constitution, which was adopted by Verkhovna Rada in 1996. The celebrations included the flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument, a performance by a folk dance ensemble and a festive flash mob.
On the same day, a patriotic rally dedicated to Constitution Day started on Maidan Svobody (Freedom Square). About 30 cars of the Union of ATO Veterans, Evropeiska Solidarnist (European Solidarity in Ukrainian) and Svoboda (Freedom n Ukrainian) parties as well as Kharkiv residents took part in the event.
“With this rally, we aimed to show that Kharkiv patriots are ready to defend the Constitutional system at the first need. We also wanted to remind everyone that Kharkiv is Ukraine, and Crimea and Donbas are Ukraine,” said the head of the veterans’ organization Viktor Volchelyuk.
