Kharkivites Win Two Bronze in Artistic Swimming at Olympics

On August 7, the Ukrainian artistic swimming team consisting of Kharkiv athletes won bronze at the team free routine event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Ukraine’s final free routine score was 190.3018, including team technical routine.

The team consists of Kharkiv sportswomen: Anastasiya Savchuk, Marta Fedina, Ksenia Sydorenko, Kateryna Reznik, Yelyzaveta Yakhno, Maryna Alekseeva, Vladyslava Alekseeva and Alina Shynkarenko. The age of athletes is from 19 to 35.

Russian athletes, who compete under the neutral flag, won gold in team competitions and Chinese swimmers got a silver medal.

On August 4, Marta Fedina and Anastasiya Savchuk made history winning Ukraine’s first-ever Olympic medal in artistic swimming, duet routine. Their final routine score was 95.600.

According to the official medal count by sport for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Ukraine finished the games with a total of 19 medals, including 12 bronzes, 6 silvers, and 1 gold medal.
