A monument to the fighters, deceased in the ATO zone, will be installed in the Institute of Armored Forces, reports the press-service of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.”
The monument will be dedicated to cadets, graduates and officers of the Institute, who gave their lives defending Ukraine in the Russian war in Donbas. Twenty eight people, who studied or taught at this military institution, were killed during the anti-terrorist operation.
“The monument will be located almost in the center of the student campus of the Institute of Armored Forces. Also, a small chapel has already been built not far from the future monument,” the honorary Rector of the Polytechnic University Leonid Tovazhnianskyi said. Currently, Institute of Armored Forces is a part of Kharkiv Polytechnic.
According to the authors of the project, the monument will combine the historical and modern heraldry, as well as the symbols of the Institute of Armored Forces. The monument will be made of red-black granite, and its height will be about seven meters.
