“Kharkiv region purchased 980 oxygen concentrators which can provide oxygen to two patients at the same time. As a result, all beds in the region’s hospitals for assisted air and oxygen ventilator treatment of coronavirus patients are supplied with enough oxygen,” informs the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
On January 5, the equipment was distributed to regional and district medical institutions allocated for COVID-19 patients.
The batch of concentrators was procured with state subsidies.
“In total, more than 135 million UAH (approximately $4.7 million) were aimed at purchasing of oxygen concentrators, large tanks for centralized oxygen supply, as well as for the networking of oxygen supply lines,” informs the local official.
According to the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, between 1,500 and 1,600 beds for patients with COVID-19 are occupied daily in the region’s support hospitals. The total number of beds in the region is approximately 4,000.
